Brake drums

The brake drum is a key element of the drum brake system, which is affected by the drum-type brake pads in the process of braking a car.

BLITZ brake drums are made of cast iron. Unlike alloy drums, which, after several breakings, take the form of an ellipse, cast iron drums retain their shape throughout the entire period of operation of the vehicle, which eliminates pedal vibration when braking.

Due to the use of graphite in the structure, cast iron is insensitive to all kinds of external stress concentrators (surface defects, cuts, grooves, etc.), and, therefore, has a large margin of safety.
